My favourite past-time during the summer holiday is to go for mountain bike holidays, either camping locally where there is a designated spot for bikers, or actually travelling abroad to try out the trails at an exotic location. Holidays like this one keep you active throughout your time out, as well as give you the opportunity to stay active and fit. Furthermore, one can enjoy the beautiful scenery, whilst climbing up the mountain trails.

People who are new to mountain biking, will feel a little overwhelmed by the amount of hills that they are likely to come across when going to a specific location. Morzine in France is known for its bumpy trails, challenging slopes and endless riding, making it more suitable for people who have more experience with difficult trails. This offers a variety of trails, to which some beginners maybe able to appreciate the single track flatland trails.

Morzine is not only well known for its mountain bike holidays, but also for their daring ski slopes and skiing resorts. During the summer this makes an ideal spot for some sporting biking trails. Local villagers are friendly enough to direct you to some of unknown trails, which could be a new challenge for expert bikers looking for more downhill experiences. Surfing is a kind of water sports where the surfer is carried along by a breaking wave towards the shore. Apart from surfboards body boards, kneeboards, surf skis and kayaks can be also used to surf. Various sports involving surfing are sea kayaking, paddle boarding, kite surfing and windsurfing. The first two do not require waves and winds, while the other two does. Surfing has become more of a profession by turning into a multi-billion dollar industry.

Initially the sport began when people used to lie down on hard wood boards and surf in Hawaii. The surfboards were made out of huge and heavy wood, which were difficult to maneuver. They were substituted by lighter balsa wood surfboards in 1940s and were relatively easy to maneuver by the surfer. The boards were later made out of polyurethane foam, polyester resin and fiberglass cloth with multiple layers of wooden strips. The latest technology in surfboards now is the epoxy or carbon fiber surfboard. To surf in colder regions, its advisable to wear wetsuits, boots, gloves and hood to protect from cold-water temperatures, which can sometimes lead to hypothermia. In order to care for your skateboard like you should, you will need to replace the grip tape as needed. The more you use the skateboard the more often you will need to do so. The more aggressively you perform on it the faster it will wear out. When you have worn out grip tape your skateboard isn’t going to perform like it should for you. It also isn’t going to be as safe as it could be for you to be on it.

There is a certain way that you need to apply grip tape to your skateboard. It isn’t doing you any good to do the process if you don’t do it properly. Always make sure you have a good quality type of grip tape to use. This can be purchased from sporting goods stores or online. You may have to try a few different brands before you find one you are very happy with. You can read reviews about them online too if you aren’t sure which one to try out.

For the best results you want to carefully clean your deck before you apply the new grip tape. If you don’t it can end up being uneven due to debris underneath it. Use a clean cloth to gently wipe the deck down. You don’t want to use anything harsh that can end up scratching it.
