Cade McNown – the famous UCLA quarterback

Born in Portland, Oregon, Cade McNown went to San Benito High School, Hollister, California, before he was moved to West Linn High School in West Linn, Oregon, where he played as a quarterback. After leaving high school, he went to University of California, Los Angeles, where he played college football and became the starting quarterback when he was only a true freshman; he was ranked the best amongst all freshmen quarterbacks. He left UCLA before starting his professional career with the Chicago Bears. He was selected in the first round in the 1999 NFL Draft, to be the 12th overall pick.

While starring at Chicago Bears for 2 seasons, Cade McNown played 25 games and in 2001 pre-season, he was sold to the Miami Dolphins. He didn’t really have a good spell at Miami Dolphins as he was not listed for any game and left just after a year of joining them to San Francisco 49ners in 2002. He was released by the club in 2003 after which he announced his retirement.

Though, he really didn’t have much of a career at the NFL, he had a memorable 3-year spell at UCLA, he played a key role in winning the Pac-10 title in 1998, setting a 10-2 record for the Bruins. Playing against cross-town enemy in University of Southern California, Cade McNown was the only UCLA quarterback that finished 4-0. He is now into real estate, in 2008, he was hired to be the senior vice president at Thompson National Properties, LLC; a real estate investment firm.
