Collision: This is one of the most common types of accident in skiing, where one skier collides with another skier and face head or facial injuries.

Ski lift: Sometimes accidents may happen due to poorly maintained ski lifts. However, ski lifts will be designed with highest safety measure only. But repetitive use by large number of skiers may damage the safety measures of the lift and may cause accidents. Ski lift accidents occur when the skier is loading or unloading. The ski lift operator will be held liable for the accident caused due to poor maintenance of lift.

Ski falls: Ski falls may occur due to improperly designed or maintained slope. The ski area operator should therefore take care of designing, maintaining and operating their slopes.

Ski instructor’s negligence: Ski instructors should be careful in teaching both the people and ski school students. If he is negligent in providing safety instructions or falsely encouraging a student to do a blind jump, then there are chances of getting ski accidents. Ski instructor is also responsible to take care of the ski school students. He should not go for over challenging terrain. Such faults of ski instructor often lead to severe injuries to the students.

Ski in, ski out accommodation isn’t really a concept the Americans have conquered yet, but more options are gradully creeping in to Colorado’s repertoire.

Most Europeans by contrast have grown up with ski in, ski out lodging as the norm. Alpine villages, and the ski areas they were associated with, grew alongside one another and developed into the large ski areas we know today. The ski resorts began as part of the centre of the town and naturally as new ski lifts and runs were added and more people wanted to ski, the towns expanded around them to accommodate their needs. Ski in, ski out properties just became a normal part of the expansion and although often commanding a premium prices are relatively easy to find.

Skiing in the US is increasing in popularity with the Europeans, but especially the Brits due its superior snow conditions and uncrowded slopes. 

Several US ski towns such as Breckenridge Telluride and Aspen started life as mining towns, before they grew into the world famous ski areas they are today. Steamboat Springs was originally a ranching town and still retains much of its Old West character. Many of these ski towns in the US were already established before the ski areas were developed, so the ski lifts are a mile or two from the town associated with them.

Winter Park was originally home to railway workers and gradually developed into a small town. The town is about 3 miles from the ski area, but an easy 5-10 minute free bus ride. 1. The Three Valleys (Les Trois Vallées)
Composed mainly of the Méribel, Courchevel, Les Ménuires and Val Thorens resorts, the Three Valleys area encompasses about 600km of pistes and over 200km of ski lifts. There are brilliant facilities to be found throughout these resorts, and the mountain restaurant cuisine comes highly recommended! The Three Valleys are easily reached from airports such as Geneva, Chambéry and Lyon Airports.

Méribel Located right in the centre of the three valleys, Méribel is probably the most popular ski resort in the world – just go there to find out why! There are nearly 400km of wonderful piste links to explore which link Méribel to other resorts such as Val Thorens. With a modern ski lift system, endless queues for the slopes are unheard of! There are different areas of the resort which will afford the visitor diverse skiing experiences! The main town of the resort is Méribel Les Allues, and about 3km away is Méribel Village. Méribel le Raffort is another village outside the town which has good connections to the main ski resort. You could also check out Méribel-Mottaret which is resort high up in the French Alps area. This is more for the serious skier with excellent accommodation, bars and restaurants. For the beginner, the Méribel Altiport area is the place to go.
